Jason Kui

Biography

Jason Kui is a Hong Kong-based rock & blues musician, composer, session and touring guitarist. He has worked for many well known artists and singers in Hong Kong and China. Jason started his career as a sideman at the age of 23 and has played countless shows at the Coliseum, Hong Kong’s largest venue which seats 12,500. Jason recently finished a two-year world tour as lead guitarist for Eason Chan, Hong Kong’s legendary singer. The 135-show tour went to China, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA, including Madison Square Garden. The two finale shows were performed at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest Olympic Stadium to sellout crowds totaling 100,000 people. Apart from frequent gigs in Hong Kong, Kui often works in mainland China. He was the in-house guitarist for the TV show “I Am A Singer” in the 2013-2014 season. The final episode of that show registered 300 million viewers. Jason had released his debut instrumental CD in January 2017 featuring Anup Sastry (drummer for Marty Friedman and Jeff Loomis, and ex drummer of Intervals, Monuments and Skyharbor) and other top notch musicians, also featuring a solo by well-known LA guitar virtuoso, Josh Smith.
